James Gordon

Little is known of James Gordon Junior. He was born in England and was an artist. His father, James Gordon Senior, was also an artist and lived in Aberdeen and later at No.7 Union Street, Edinburgh.

James painted several portraits of his wife, Anna, a full-length portrait of his nephew William Thomson (1844-51) and in oils, paintings of his sister-in-law, Margaret Thomson (nee Pratt) and her husband, William.

When Margaret joined her husband William in India, in 1858(9), their children, John, James, George and Elizabeth remained in Edinburgh, Scotland with James and Anna.
