According to cable advice, Mrs George Allan passed away in Coshabamba, Bolivia, on Thursday last. Mr and Mrs Allan sailed for South America on April 22, 1899, and had been engaged in missionary work in Bolivia for almost forty years. They first went out under the Australasian South American Mission, but in 1907 Mr Allan became the founder of the Bolivian Indian Mission, which has now some 60 workers in Bolivia. Mrs Allan was mother and nurse to all the younger members of the mission, and they and her husband will miss her sorely. Mrs Allan had one son, Mr Joseph Allan, who lives near Riverton, and one daughter, Margarita, now Mrs Hudspeth, who is engaged in the work of the mission. Mr Allan is a native of the East Taieri and Mrs Allan, formerly Miss Stirling, belonged to Southland. They both have many relatives and friends, who will hear of Mrs Allan's death with keen regret.
